The Grand Hyatt Tokyo wasn’t our original hotel choice for our first visit to Japan. We had initially planned to stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo, but due to ongoing renovations, we pivoted to the Grand Hyatt – and we’re so glad we did. Nestled in the vibrant Roppongi Hills neighborhood, this 5-star hotel offers impeccable luxury, modern conveniences, and the refined, understated elegance that defines Japanese hospitality. We loved our experience so much, we chose to return and stay here twice during our trip.

Checking in/out of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo
Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 12pm, which is a bit later than many hotels. If you arrive early the hotel will store your bags at a minimum and will also accommodate you if your room is not available. Additionally, if you are a World of Hyatt program member, you can request a late check out. Becoming a World of Hyatt program member is free, and it provides great program loyalty perks – early check-in, late check-out, free breakfast (at the Globalist level) and more. We highly recommend it.
Rooms and suites

The rooms and suites at Grand Hyatt Tokyo are super spacious, with high ceilings and plenty of room to relax and settle in. If you’re staying on one of the higher floors, you’re in for a treat – sweeping views of Tokyo’s skyline add a magical touch to mornings and evenings alike.
The beds are ultra-comfy, wrapped in soft, luxurious linens that make it hard to get up in the morning (in the best way). Each room comes with cozy bathrobes and slippers, and in true Japanese fashion, a yukata – a casual kimono – is thoughtfully provided for every guest to wear during their stay.
The bathrooms are a standout feature: expect invigorating rain showers and one of the deepest soaking tubs we’ve ever seen in a hotel. It’s the kind of space that makes you want to turn your evening into a mini spa ritual. You’ll also find an array of complimentary amenities – toothbrushes, hairbrushes, personal washcloths, and more – so you can pack light and still feel completely taken care of.
And yes, there’s a Japanese-style smart toilet (because luxury should include warm seats and automatic lids). 💖
Rooms are stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, and mineral water, making it easy to settle in and feel at home from the moment you arrive. Every detail is designed for maximum comfort and ease, with a perfect balance of international luxury and Japanese hospitality.
