The Park Hyatt, Washington DC is by far our favorite hotel in Washington, DC. It actually started our love for the Park Hyatt hotels many years ago, as it was the first Park Hyatt we ever visited. Situated in the upscale West End neighborhood, this luxury hotel is just moments away from the White House, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, and the vibrant culture, history, and attractions that define Washington, D.C.
The Park Hyatt Washington, DC has been our favorite hotel while in the US capital for many years and it has never disappointed us. The minimalistic architecture and decorations, the extremely comfortable rooms and suites, the excellent onsite restaurant and bar and the welcoming staff have made this hotel a top choice for us. ❤️

You can walk to Georgetown or enjoy the nearby Francis and Rock Creek Parks. If you are staying at the hotel during a weekend, you can walk to the Dupont Organic Farmers Market and enjoy excellent locally grown produce and food.

Checking in/out of the Park Hyatt Washington, DC
Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 12pm, which is a bit later than many hotels. If you arrive early the hotel will store your bags at a minimum and will also accommodate you if your room is not available. Additionally, if you are a World of Hyatt program member, you can request a late check out. Becoming a World of Hyatt program member is free, and it provides great program loyalty perks – early check-in, late check-out, free breakfast (at the Globalist level) and more. We highly recommend it.

At the Park Hyatt, Washington DC, you’ll find exceptional comfort. Across multiple visits, we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing various rooms and suites, all exquisitely furnished and spacious, ensuring a truly comfortable stay. The bedding is top-notch, bath towels are luxuriously soft and absorbent, and plush robes and slippers are thoughtfully provided. Each room and suite boast a spa-inspired limestone bath and a comprehensive selection of amenities.
What’s more, the indulgent Le Labo amenities add an extra layer of luxury to your stay ❤️. The inclusion of a Nespresso machine is a welcome touch for those early morning coffee or tea cravings. If you opt for one of the suites, you’ll also enjoy a separate living area complete with a cozy couch, an additional table, and a work desk for added convenience.
Dining options
The award-winning Blue Duck Tavern is a one Michelin star restaurant which boasts an open kitchen and really deep wine cellar. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and all the food we have tried has been of the highest quality. The restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients, and the presentation of each dish is beautiful. In the evening, guests can explore a tasting menu, which we highly recommend. Be sure to grab a reservation for dinner as the restaurant is often completely booked. ❤️
For a more casual yet equally tasty experience, try the Blue Duck Tavern lounge. Explore the large selection of handcrafted cocktails and the extensive wine list, while enjoying bites from the Blue Duck restaurant. If you have a large party, book one of the chic glass-enclosed tables for a special experience in a unique setting. ❤️
The Tea Cellar is another unique and super special experience. From 4pm to midnight daily, you can explore a large selection of teas prepared to perfection. If you are a tea drinker, be sure to try this at least once during your stay. ❤️
Other amenities
The hotel offers a 24-hour Fitness Center, which is somewhat small, but perfect for workouts away from home. We love how the machines overlook the tree-lined DC streets. Of note is that there are two Peloton® bikes and some good quality cardio machines.
Additionally, you can enjoy the saltwater pool and jacuzzi to help you relax in a very quiet setting.
Overall impressions of the Park Hyatt Washington, DC
The Park Hyatt, Washington DC is the first Park Hyatt we stayed at many years ago and it has remained one of our all-time favorite hotels.
- We love the location of the hotel. It is within walking distance of the beautiful Georgetown neighborhood and near two major metro stations.
- You can sense the quiet, Zen-like atmosphere from the moment you step through the front door.
- The rooms are minimalistic yet super beautiful and comfortable.
- The spacious bathrooms are a personal favorite, and we love the Le Labo amenities.
- The Blue Tavern, Bar and lounge are fantastic places to unwind after a busy day and to enjoy great wines and food.
- The staff is always very welcoming and ready to accommodate any requests you might have.
In closing, the Park Hyatt Washington, DC is on the top of our list for a place to stay while visiting the nation’s capital. We always look forward to returning and re-experiencing all that it has to offer.
