Rooms and suites
The Lodge at Spruce Peak provides super comfortable accommodations from single rooms to suites and full residencies. You can expect to have plenty of space in a luxury but relaxed setting. The linens and towels are of great quality and a bathrobe is provided for each guest. We would have liked to have slippers as well; however, those were not provided.
Each room has a standard coffee maker and a small fridge. Daily water bottles are also provided.
We really enjoyed the spacious bathrooms, featuring a good-sized shower, and the soaking bathtub, which came in handy after long daily hikes. The bath amenities by Vermont’s company Ursa Mejor were also a favorite of ours! ❤️ We were happy to discover that you can purchase Ursa Mejor products online.
Our stay was extremely comfortable and very relaxing! 💯
Dining options
The dining options at the Lodge at Spruce Peak felt adequate for the size of the resort during the fall months. However, this may be different if you visit during the busier ski season.
- Alpine Hall and Bar – with a focus on using locally grown products, this restaurant and bar offers excellent options and a way to taste dishes prepared with Vermont grown produce and farm products. It is also the place to have a great breakfast and get ready for a day of exploring, hiking, or skiing. We really enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes with local maple syrup. 😋 For dinner a reservation is a must, especially if you have a large party, as this restaurant is quite popular.
- Tipsy Trout – this restaurant is a bit fancier and focuses on dishes using the best regional seafood. Allegedly, it has Vermont’s best raw bar. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list. Of note is that this restaurant is open Friday through Tuesday. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
- WhistlePig Pavilion – located in the Village just outside the lodge, the pavilion offers excellent mountain views while you sip on local beers or a hand-made cocktail. Additionally, you can grab a fire-baked raclette. 😋
- Aqua Pool Bar – serves a lighter fare, local brews and cocktails.
Additional dining options
Additionally, the Lodge at Spruce Peak is just a short drive away from downtown Stowe and downtown Waterbury, where you can find a number of great dining options. Among our favorites are Michael’s on the Hill, Idletyme Brewing Company, Piecasso, Cork Restaurant and Natural Wine Shop, Blackback Pub, and The Trapp Family Beerhall. We highly recommend all of these.
Other amenities
Full-service spa
The Spa at the Lodge at Spruce Peak is absolutely fantastic. 🤩 From the moment you step in you are in for a special treat. The spa has an extensive menu, which includes massages, facials, body treatments and full hair salon services. Be sure to try any of the services using local ingredients such as a cider scrub. And, if you are more adventurous, try their non-invasive T-Shock Cryotherapy.
Pool and gym
The heated pool and two oversized jacuzzies are perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking or sightseeing. Plus, the Mount Mansfield views from inside the pool are just spectacular. 🤩 Both the pool and the jacuzzies are oversized, so we never felt overcrowded.
The 24-hour gym is somewhat basic, but it is nice to have if you like to exercise while on vacation.
