Luxury and Location: A Comprehensive Review of the Andaz Condesa

Andaz Condesa Mexico City

The Andaz Condesa is a luxury boutique hotel nestled in one of Mexico City’s most vibrant neighborhoods – Condesa. Serving as a comfortable and stylish base for city exploration, it offers easy access to a number of excellent restaurants, cozy cafes, and lively bars all within walking distance. Just a short stroll away, the beautiful Parque Mexico provides an ideal space for nature walks, city runs, and relaxation. The neighborhood has a safe and welcoming vibe. You’ll often hear English spoken on the streets, but you’ll still get that authentic feel of being in a residential area of the city.

Below you will find our honest account of a stay at the Andaz Condesa hotel, as well as tips on where to go and what to do if you choose this hotel for your Mexico City trip.

The Andaz Condesa hotel facts

The Andaz Condesa is located at Aguascalientes 158, Colonia Condesa, Cuauhtémoc, 06100 Ciudad de México. The Benito Juarez Mexico City International Airport is just a 30-minute drive away. For a major city like Mexico City, this makes it an exceptionally convenient and easily accessible location.

The hotel offers the following:

  • 193 rooms and 20 suites, beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. Rooms and suites higher than the ninth floor offer breathtaking views of the city, and some suites come with terraces.
  • Plush bedding, bath linens, and super comfortable beds for a luxurious stay
  • Bathrooms are divided in three areas: an external sink with plenty of space for personal items, an excellent size shower, and a separate toilet area
  • Luxury products by Stockholm company Bayredo – a personal favorite ❤️
  • Dining options include Pórtico restaurant, Cabuya Rooftop restaurant and bar, Derba Matcha Café, and Wooftop Beer Garden & Canine Club.
  • A rooftop pool with limited seating capacity
  • Onsite 24-hour fitness center
  • Full-service spa offering a range of beauty and wellness services

Checking in and out of the Andaz Condesa

Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 12pm – a bit later than most hotels. If you arrive early the hotel will store your bags at a minimum and will also accommodate you if your room is not available. Additionally, if you are an American Express Platinum program member and book your stay through the program, you can request a late check out (available till 4pm).

Rooms and Suites

The Andaz Condesa rooms and suites provide very comfortable accommodations. Our King Bed High Room was spacious and offered stunning city views. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including robes for each guest, though slippers were not provided. The room’s décor was unique and modern, and we appreciated the complimentary water, coffee, tea, nonalcoholic beverages (including locally produced Coca-Cola), and snacks. The Byredo cosmetics products were a great addition. ❤️

Our stay was extremely comfortable and very relaxing! 💯

It’s worth mentioning that during our stay, there was occasionally an unpleasant odor in the hallways, which may have been a temporary issue.

Dining options at the Andaz Condesa

The dining options at the Andaz Condesa were plentiful, and we felt the quality of the food was excellent. Additionally, the service was prompt and attentive. All restaurants offered great spaces for food and socializing.

  • Pórtico restaurant – the perfect place for breakfast – we loved the breakfast buffet! Plentiful selections, excellent fresh juices and super attentive service. In the afternoon and into the evening, you can enjoy cocktails and food on the nice outdoor patio.
  • Cabuya Rooftop restaurant and bar – located on the 17th floor of the hotel, this spot offers seafood and drinks with stunning city views. Although it was closed for maintenance during our visit, the photos we saw suggest it’s a great place to enjoy the scenery.
  • Derba Matcha Café – if you’re a matcha fan, this is a must-visit café. ❤️ They offer a fantastic selection of high-quality matcha drinks, along with a variety of other beverages, including alcoholic options. You can also enjoy bowls, sandwiches, and more. It’s a perfect spot to socialize with friends in a cozy setting or to get some work done if needed.
  • Wooftop Beer Garden & Canine Club – if you’re traveling with your dog, you’ll definitely want to check out this place. You can enjoy food and drinks with a view from the rooftop bar while your dog plays with new friends. Unsure what to think of this concept, but it is an option for travelers and their dogs.

Other amenities

The onside Pasana Spa and Wellness Center was a great place to enjoy services before or after a day of exploring the city.

The spa offers a full-service menu including massages, facials, hair and nail services. Of note are the treatments, which emphasize the use of local knowledge and ingredients. You can book your appointments here. The spa also offers daily specials, which will be listed in the spa brochure in your room.

If you prefer not to change your regular exercise routine, a complimentary 7/24 gym is available to hotel guests. A number of yoga classes are also offered to hotel guests.

The hotel has a rooftop pool, where you can relax and enjoy a drink. It is more a relaxation pool than one in which you can swim, but it is a nice place to take in the city views.

Overall impressions of the Andaz Condesa

The Andaz Condesa hotel was a very nice base from which to explore Mexico City.

  • The hotel’s location was fantastic, making it super easy to get around the city. It’s close to the metro, surrounded by great restaurants, and near some beautiful parks. We really felt like we were part of the neighborhood and got a real taste of what living in Mexico City is like.
  • If you enjoy modern decor and amenities, the Andaz Condesa will be a great choice for you. ❤️
  • The hotel has everything you need for a comfy stay—well-appointed rooms and suites, great dining options, and plenty of relaxation areas and amenities.
  • The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with all our requests. It was clear they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! ❤️💯

A few minor things we didn’t enjoy:

  • Occasionally, there was an unpleasant smell in the hallways.
  • The hotel’s location on Google Maps was incorrect, making Uber pickups and drop-offs a bit tricky.

In closing, we highly recommend the Andaz Condesa for your stay while visiting Mexico City. We look forward to returning and re-experiencing all that it has to offer.
